Free Trade Agreement And Its Impact On The Economy Essay
Free Trade Agreement Its Impact on the Economy After the end of World War II, the Governments began having an active interest in making trade liberalization a reality via multilateral negotiations (Baldwin Jaimovich, 2012). At the time, the United States was aggressively pursuing liberalization of international trade by forming mutual trade agreements between several counties in successive rounds of multilateral negotiations via the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade (GATT) and later the World Trade Organization (WTO). However, in the past few years, there has been a growing concern over the effectiveness of multilateral negotiations (Cooper, 2014). This concern has led to the formulation of Free Trade Agreement (FTA), which removes nearly all trade subsidies and restrictions for both individuals and a business around the world. Currently, several FTAs have been signed and proposed between countries (Baier et al., 2014). Economists around the world believe that the FTA now includes a large part of the worldââ¬â¢s eco nomic output, and, thus, their impact should be studied in greater depth and detail. The consensus over the impact of FTA is that all their effects, good or bad, should be extremely minimalistic on all the countries involved. The following report provides background on the FTA, examines the FTA regulations, and discusses the impact that the FTA has on the global economy. In the recent decade it has been noticed that the innovation tools is shaping path of success for many companies worldwide. Innovation refers to the technique of processing the same work with a different creative approach. Innovation and entrepreneurship are closely interconnected and competence to an organization if adapted together. The process of innovation depends upon the type of the organization and skills they want to enhance in the management of the organization. The foremost duty of an entrepreneur is to inculcate innovation in the management and adapt flexibly according to the business environment (Drucker, 2014). Entrepreneurship in relation to innovation is a notion which defines the capacity of an organization to manage risk and generate profit out of it. It refers to the innovative activities which a business shall implement to develop the organizational structure. This process includes activities which an entrepreneur shall perform by injecting creativity into their work. Entrepreneurship is also known as the process of starting a new business and availing all the opportunities provided to the company by identifying and measuring the risks. The concept of entrepreneurship is dynamic and involves a visionary approach to reach the target by eliminating all the management barriers and utilizing the resources optimally (Tidd Bessant, 2015). As stated earlier innovation and entrepreneurship are interconnected factors which affect the growth of a business. The innovation is a broader concept which includes entrepreneurship in its working. Some of the renowned entrepreneurs who created their brand image with innovation are Mark Zuckerberg owner of Facebook and Larry Page owner of Google Company. Innovation is the key action of entrepreneurship through which business active success now a day (Trimi, Berbegal-Mirabent, 2012). W.D Guth and A. Ginsberg invented the term in-trapreneurship which stated the birth of a new enterprise within existing business. In today's world innovation is the need of every enterprise to become successful and resolve the barriers without disturbing the business activity. Innovation is a tool required by every business in order to precede effectiveness in their organization. In earlier times, business with traditional management techniques used to work efficiently due to lack of competition technology in the market. But with the change in time, business tactics are becoming innovative, thus to succeed in the industry a company require to implement innovation and entrepreneurship in their practices. The 7 eleven company is the demand of its customers due to its taste and quality of product. This helps the company gain the competitive in the market. Further 7 eleven shall use these tools to create a definite innovation and entrepreneurship framework in the organization structure (Onetti, et. al., 2012). Entrepreneurship in narrow concept refers to creating new idea and implementing it in the organization. So it can be seen that sole entrepreneurship cannot work well to establish and enhance the activities of 7 eleven. Thus the company shall define a set of framework to manage the activities of the organization. In order to execute the framework the management of 7 eleven shall analyze the internal factor causing barrier in the growth of the organization. In relation to it, new innovative techniques shall be defined by the management so that barriers are removed and 7 eleven improves its managerial skills as well. The implementing innovation in an organization, there are three basic components which shall be looked after, that are, infrastructure, capital and entrepreneurial capacity (Ar?kan, Engino?lu, 2016). Innovation can only be implemented if entrepreneurship practices are strong, so the entrepreneur shall define new goal for the organization considering the objective of company as well as employees and lead them to achieve their respective target. Also, the entrepreneur shall maintain good communication so that problems can be easily overcome through discussion. Future to resolve the problem efficiently, the entrepreneur shall manage all the innovative activities under their surveillance so that the employee shall not get distracted from their goals. Thus in this way the company 7 eleven shall achieve organizational innovation through entrepreneurship process (Berglund, Gaddefors, 2010). Also, the company shall not get confused with innovation and disruptive innovation. Disruptive innovation is a form of innovation technique which creates new product and in the new product market. As it is seen that the company already enjoys a brand image in the market and do not need further changes in the product or market. Thus, 7 elven shall make sure that they implement innovative techniques in the existing product only (Kohles, Bligh, Carsten, 2013). Hence, in the limelight of above events, it shall be concluded that the company 7 eleven is facing the issue in managing the franchise. So in order to change the condition and create efficiency in the organization, the management of the company shall implement the innovative techniques strategically. The company shall try to focus on innovation through entrepreneurship and not involve in disruptive innovation. Disaster Is Different Around The World Essays - Tropical Cyclone
Disaster Is Different Around The World Disaster is Different Around The World The purpose of this paper is to show the difference between the way the United States faces a disaster and the way Central America handles a disaster. In 1992 we faced the costliest hurricane to hit the United States in history. In 1998 Central America was rocked by fourth strongest hurricane ever. Though both were huge disasters our perception of a hurricane might be a little different than someone living in Latin America. As previously stated, Central America was hit by a train. And this train had a name?.Mitch. The storm was formed off the coast of Africa and gained strength in the open ocean. When Mitch came ashore on October 29th it had sustained winds of 180mph and unknown gust velocity. It crept slowly inland and dumped record amounts of rainfall in a short period of time. The countries most effected by the hurricane were ; Honduras, Nicaragua, El Salvador, Guatemala, and Belize. As of December 2, 1998 the number of confirmed deaths was 5,642 with 8,050 still missing. People injured in the storm counted 12,272. Over 1,199,000 people were displaced. With more than 100,000 homes destroyed (UN Situation Report par.9). Over 2,000 people were swept away by mudslides on the Casitas volcano when in one week in October more rain fell than in the previous three years combined. Governments were overwhelmed by the need of supplies. The cost to Honduras alone was well over 4 billion dollars. With over 70% of the food crops destroyed help was needed very badly, but with communication down and 90% of roads washed away it was hard to supply villages deep inland (USAToday online #1 par. 14). When the Hurricane first came ashore there was very little anyone could do but hold on to something, anything. No place was safe. Central American countries are some of the poorest in the world and a hurricane proof shelter is hard to find. Most people grabbed what they could and headed for the hills. That idea was not always good because then there was a risk of mudslides. After the major part of the storm was over people returned to their homes to find nothing at all. The government did all they could to help but that wasn't much. Huge towns of plastic tents were constructed. Aid groups came in with food which was hard to come by. There was never enough. In some regions schools and factories were shut down to house and feed the injured. Unemployment soared to a huge 60% due to the lack of places left standing. The government started hiring people to clear roads and public areas. The pay was a whopping 10 dollars a week but that is better than not having a job at all. Analysis shows that rebuilding bridges across the damaged areas could take almost four years(USAToday#1 par.6). Deepening poverty is almost certain. Another thing which is huge problem is the health risks associated with this type of disaster. The destruction and contamination of the fresh water is one of the main things. Another is raw sewage being in the rivers and streams which can spread many diseases. The most common right now in Central America is; diarrhea, skin diseases, acute respiratory infections, conjunctivitis, and a few cases of Leptospirosis. Due to the fact that all these diseases are there makes fewer people want to help in the clean up effort(USAToday#2 par. 11). On August 24, 1992 the United States was hit by the costliest hurricane in U.S. history. Andrew was his name and like Mitch it was a very deadly storm. It had 145mph winds and gusts up to 175mph. Unlike Mitch, Andrew only killed 41 people and destroyed over 100,000 homes(Terry par.#1). Residents who lived in the hills of Central America and had no warning of the approaching hurricane while everyone in Florida and the surrounding areas knew for two days that a hurricane was headed in their direction. In the case with Andrew the Red Cross already had shelters set up and more volunteers on the way to help. American's being a giving people sent contributions and other supplies to Floridians to help with the recovery effort(Terry

He developed this craving from his childhood years when eating crackers and home made Jam at his randomnesss house. As he grew older he looked for that special taste in Jams at the supermarket. During his visits to several supermarkets he realized that there were more imported Jams being sold than Jams made with local fruits. He then decided to conduct a feasibility study about Jams being sold and manufactured locally. The results from his study showed that 10% of Jams on the market were made locally. On further investigation it was revealed that senior citizens made most of the local Jams. These are done on a small scale. The recipes from these Jams are not passed on to the younger generation. Mr Pilgrim then became very concerned that the recipes of the Jams he loved since childhood would soon be buried in the grave along with our ancestors. He then decided to start a business where he would keep the recipe and his culture alive. He approached five people from the community to develop his idea: Jonathan Gilles He supplied the fruit trees Recipes for the Jams Karee Ask Accounting and management skills Successful Business Lawyer Unaware Remain Marketing experience They were all interested in his idea and decided to invest by putting in shares into the business. COLLABORATORS: The hosting site is bravest, they collaborate with the web designer in order for the website to be functional. S. W. O. T ANALYSIS STRENGTHS Staff with experience in accounting, marketing and management skills Practicing lawyer for twelve years Land with numerous fruit trees Entrepreneurial attributes such as commitment, determined perseverance and self confidence There are not many other businesses that sell locally. WEAKNESSES Lack of liquid cash to Finance start up cost Lack of established markets OPPORTUNITIES To be able to expand the Capital Consumers not having to go far to get the product Quality Jams THREATS Take a while to enter market since customer/ client relationship would have to be established for fixed deliveries There are several other local Jams being sold Natural elements such as hurricanes etc, animals such as birds, rodents may destroy ruts The company Waddle Jam main purpose for writing a business plan was to secure funding, such as bank loans. Scotia bank was approached by one of the partners to secure a loan for the company. Following is the information needed by the bank before a loan is granted to the company. You must have tangible security (collateral) in the form of cash or land. You must deposit 35% of the amount of the loan. The loan is paid on principal interest for no more than arrears. The interest rate is between 11-12%. After the loans officer and director of the bank review the requirements, 65% of the initial loan will then be granted to the company. A loan of $441 ,OHO. Price In order for our business to be successful we have to market our product effectively. We intend to sell our product wholesale and retail. Our aim is to decrease the mount of Jams that are imported into the country and replace those Jams with our product. The cost of our products is cheaper as they are locally made and there are easily transported to the various supermarkets. We want our Jams to be lunch snacks to children, on breakfast tables at hotels, restaurants and supermarket shelves and also sold to many tourists that enter the island. Eventually we hope to export our Jams to other countries. Our first target is to get our product into the major supermarkets and hotels. By our estimate this will be about 70% of the population of Antigen and Barbuda and about 0% of tourist. Meetings with prospective customers media advertisements and flyers would be the machinery put in place to market our Jams. As an introduction to our product we intend to give samples to shoppers and tourist at various hotels as an experiment on how effective the product is. Then we will record their general opinion and comparisons to the Jams they normally buy. We choose a location that is accessible to everyone. We are located at Coolidge Industrial Park. Travelling and Culture Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1250 words
Travelling and Culture - Essay Example Critically, travelling is an avenue to an open mindset. It is a way of understanding the very essence of live and coming to terms with what the world has to offer in the form of diversity. That travelling is bridge to cultural adaptability and orientation can never be disputed. Indeed, much knowledge in the world is gained through exposure to different experiences and perceptions. This very exposure and experience is a function of travelling which connotes the movement from one situation to another. Spent a stint of your lifetime in Africa, another timeframe in the States and some stay in the Orient countries and you are certainly a well-rounded individual who understands the world in greater depth than the conventional observer. Many educational institutions across the world focus on cultural exchanges between students in different cultural backgrounds with the motive of inundating the students with all that relates to the different cultural backgrounds. This greatly contributes in shaping the mindsets of such students so that they realize and incorporate different aspects into their lifestyles (Arnold 98-9). In many countries across the world, global travelling comes under great onslaught from its critics on the account that it ruins people. In Africa, most students who travel abroad for further studies go back with totally different lifestyles that are often unwelcome in their countries. It then begs the analysis of the whole concept of travelling and its relation to an individualââ¬â¢s cultural opinion. In the analysis, it appears the whole matter boils down to an individual and how they approach different situations. In many instances it can be seen that people who get exposed to different cultures by virtue of travelling approach the whole situation on a different perfective (Bastian 85). While some people get totally indoctrinated with new ways of live and shun their former cultures, others simply appreciate and understand the differences. That create s the whole jam. However, it is imperative to realize that the general make up of an individual is the greatest determinant in the whole cultural equation. Interestingly, culture cannot infuse by itself from one country to another. It must be conveyed through the actions of man like travelling and entertainment. Therefore the argument on whether travelling helps to communicate between cultures gets much backing considering that as people approach new cultural environments, they also spill part of their cultural adaptations in such environments thereby creating the whole link. However, some people may argue against travelling on the account that it is not the only avenue for cultural communication (Lincoln 55). For instance, in most large cities across the world, it is not uncommon to locate a French restaurant that offers purely French cuisines or a Chinese restaurant that brings Beijing to such local environments. The argument then goes that it demands more or less than travelling to communicate different cultures. Travelling contributes to the growth of knowledge and prevents narrow-mindedness. It creates the chance to annihilate the many different stereotypes that people hold against each other especially from different cultural environments. Even inter-cultural marriages are negotiated in such forums, making unity amidst diversity. Indeed travelling makes this
